Suranne Jones

Sarah Anne Jones, better known as Suranne Jones, is an actor and producer born in England. Suranne Jones has gained fame her role as Ruth Slater in the miniseries "Unforgiven," as Detective Rachel Bailey in the police procedural drama 'Scott & Bailey as well as the GP Gemma Foster in the medical show 'Doctor Frank'. Originating from Chadderton, Greater Manchester, Jones has joined the Oldham Theatre Workshop and received her BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts from the workshop. Her first stage performance began as a child at eight years of age, playing Gloria in a stage production called 'Wait Until Dark'. The first time she appeared on screen in 1997 when she played an actress in an episode on "Coronation Street". She was in 2000 as Karen McDonald in the series.
